This has to be the most cynical take on extrapleuronary pneumonectomy, or, the hail mary surgery as it is referred to in Korea. I called my hospital and unlike the article they said I would be back to work a maxiumum of one month after surgery (the article says it'll be 3 months before I can even return to my desk job in front of a computer where I talk to nobody all day long).
The rest of the article ..... mostly worst case scenario from what I've read so far.
